Youth Fitness Development During Lockdown

Everyone has to start from somewhere. Regardless of age or fitness level. Let physical literacy begins at the early age. Fitness is a long term game. Especially in the challenging situations whereby everyone is affected by the world's pandemic, be it sources of income or physical health. We can play our roles by curbing the virus through strict adherence to the SOP but there's only so much we can do. However, let's not forget about our physically and mental health at this point of time. We control what we can control. If it requires you to take your workout virtually with your trainers or coaches by all means go ahead. Make full use of the technology. What we need most at this point of time is being resourceful, proactive and keep making progress.


Countless of research has shown that daily exercise can boost mental focus and health. The release of serotonin and endorphin through your daily workouts are enough to create your positive mental health throughout the day. We have to get creative with our training programs as such through variety of stimulating exercise games, traditional fitness programs and many more. Coaches and trainers will help athletes not only to preserve their strength during the lockdown period but also provide a fun and engaging exercise program so that the young athletes are more likely to stick to their exercise program and stay healthy.


What I have learned throughout the years is that, I have never short sell myself from acquiring knowledge from the experts. Be it your from professional financial advisor related to your finance, sports coach or fitness trainer related to your physical health. These are the people we need to learn from as they have spend years in acquiring their knowledge and experience in their field. It would save you time and cost in the long run rather than wasting through the years of searching information that does not lead to achieving your goals.


Enjoy the process of evolving to a better version of yourself, mentally and physically.

Every steps you take it leads to greater gains. It is like an investment. Putting small deposits in your account and let the compounding effect takes place. Let's get it!


These are the activities that you can do during the lockdown. A simple yet effective in keeping you active.


1) Focus Games

Plastic bag catch. Throw the empty plastic bag in the air and try to keep it afloat in the air for at least 1 min, using either your head, palms, elbows, knees or toes.


2) Balance

Lvl 1: Single leg knee lift with eyes open 30s per leg repeat 2 to 3x per leg

Lvl 2: Single leg knee lift with eyes close 30s per leg repeat 2 to 3x per leg


3) Core Strength

Plank 1min total for 3 sets rest 30s in between.
