It is the foundation required as an athlete. There are so much more about just being strong. Most sports coaches spend most time with their athletes in the field for skills practice while neglecting the most important NO. 1 criteria which is STRENGTH. Spending countless hours of practicing skills sports or drills won't get you any stronger instead it might put you into higher chances of injuries due to over training and lacking of few components of strength. In fact, this is very common in the younger athletes, when there's too much too soon or perhaps over expectation from their sports coaches, when the foundation is absent to support their high expectations.

THINK ABOUT IT...How do you get FASTER and STRONGER? 

The answer is STRENGTH TRAINING.

But first, in order to get FAST we have to know the basic of physics. 

If it takes us to 15 seconds to reach 100 meters,

that means we are lacking of POWER. 

Hence,

Velocity or Speed = Distance/Time

How do we get POWER? It is measured by producing the most amount of force as fast as possible. More force with more  velocity WINS. 

Hence,

Power= Force x Velocity

​

That leads us to the final question. How do we get Force? In order to produce force we have to train our muscle to move load. In this case, we have to move the load as fast as possible. 

Hence,

Force = Mass x Acceleration 

​

Now you have the answer which is STRENGTH. The more load we are able

to move and the quicker we accelerate that means we are more efficient.

NO. 1 DYNAMIC STRENGTH

A based strength with adequate mobility and range of motion when performing a movement using body-weight or loaded. This is a prerequisite before moving into higher strength hierarchy.

NO. 2 EXPLOSIVE STRENGTH

The body's ability to produce maximum amount of force as quickly as possible. It is usually required to accelerate from sprinting or running and re-accelerate after a braking phase or when initiating a change of direction. Success of an athlete is determine how fast and quickly can he/she move from point A to B.

NO. 3 ECCENTRIC STRENGTH

The body's ability to absorb force and load from elastic energy produce during a braking phase. This usually required in most sports during the change of direction. Success of an athlete is also determine on how effectively can he/she absorb force produced from Point A to B or decelerate when moving towards point B without getting injured.

NO. 4 MULTI DIRECTION STRENGTH

The body's ability to handle and hold forces from different direction without compromising body's position and integrity.

NO. 5 REACTIVE STRENGTH

The body's ability to transfer high amount of eccentric forces into concentric explosive strength. This is also known as producing force as fast as possible in the shortest amount of time. Success of an athlete is also determine how fast and quick can he/she come out from a change of direction. Imagine a spring like effect.

My name is Josh and I'm a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA).
